Jugal Kishore Temple, also known as the Keshi Ghat Temple, is one of the oldest and most architecturally significant temples in Vrindavan. Built in 1684 during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna in his form as Jugal Kishore, representing Krishna and Radha as the divine couple (Jugal means pair or couple, and Kishore refers to Krishna in his youthful form).
The temple is situated right on the banks of the Yamuna River, near the famous Keshi Ghat, where Lord Krishna is believed to have killed the demon Keshi. Its red sandstone architecture, similar to Mughal designs, makes it stand out among the temples in Vrindavan. The temple’s serene location by the Yamuna offers a peaceful ambiance, perfect for both devotion and reflection.
