Uma Shakti Peeth is one of the sacred Shakti Peethas located in Mathura, dedicated to Goddess Uma (another name for Goddess Parvati), the consort of Lord Shiva. Shakti Peethas are important pilgrimage sites in Hinduism, believed to be places where parts of Goddess Sati's body or her ornaments fell after her self-immolation and subsequent disintegration by Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra.
At Uma Shakti Peeth, it is believed that Goddess Sati’s hair (Kesha) fell, making this temple a significant site for devotees of the Divine Mother. The temple is known for its peaceful ambiance, devotional energy, and spiritual significance. Pilgrims visit to seek blessings for strength, protection, and prosperity, and to connect with the divine feminine energy of Shakti.
